Estancia Los Potreros is an exclusive 6,500 acre working cattle farm, delightfully secluded at the top of the Sierras Chicas in Córdoba, Argentina, yet less than an hour from an international airport
Farmed by the family for four generations, today Kevin and Louisa Begg delight in welcoming guests to share their home and lifestyle, providing a unique and unforgettable riding holiday
Every day at the estancia is different. Enjoy long open canters along grassy hilltops; take a refreshing dip in natural rock pools; visit local churches on horseback; help the gauchos round up the cattle or bring in the young horses.
The option to try your hand at lassoing or take on the locals at gaucho games make for perfect afternoons - and no trip to Argentina would be complete without trying your hand at polo!
Estancia Los Potreros is the heart of Argentina, land of the gaucho, nothing but wide open spaces, the finest beef and some of the world's best wines.
The herd of over 130 horses offers something to delight everyone. For riders of all abilities, sure-footed and tough criollo, energetic and smooth gaited Peruvian Paso horses or strong and even-tempered quarter horses and agile and fast polo ponies.
All are soft-mouthed, forward going and with wonderful temperaments, typical of working horses who lead varied lives and are free to roam on the hills in their downtime. Most are home-bred and raised on the estancia, one of the joys of riding here is discovering a new favorite horse on every ride.
Family style meals are typically Argentine but have a European twist, varied and delicious, with plenty local favorites on the menu. You'll get to experience the traditional Argentine asado or barbecue, plus freshly baked bread and homemade dishes, all supplemented by the estancia's home-reared beef and organically grown vegetables, fruit and free-range eggs.
We also can't wait for you to try Estancia Los Potreros's ‘own label’ wines, which often accompany some great conversations, well into the night.
