Cape Wineland Riding also offer the epic Wine & Gourmet Trail! This is a 5 night trail ride that takes you through the vineyards, orchards and along incredible mountain passes. Cape Winelands Riding owner Louis Geyer has poured his heart and soul into building a stable of horses fit for the job. Louis has shared his incredible insight and sensitivity towards horses with his team in order to create a stable of gentle and fine horses schooled to guide you through the incredible local surroundings of the Cape Winelands. Louis and his team have created a magical place which you will leave feeling happier, better about yourself, more alive and wholesome than when you arrived.
At Cape Winelands Riding, the horses aren’t just horses, they are family – their comfort and well-being a priority on a par with that of their guests. They are gentle souls for riders of all levels and are schooled for both the holiday trails as well as understanding flat work.
The horses consist of a wide variety of breeds from Warmbloods to Thoroughbred as well as a mixture of local breeds. We have Friesian, American Saddler, Arab, Shire, Boerperd, Nooitgedacht, Basotho Pony, Thoroughbred, Appaloosa and many more different cross breeds.
They take care in pairing the most suitable horse to the rider’s skill level to ensure you have a comfortable ride guaranteed that will leave you invigorated.
